Phone a Friend
I’m endlessly grateful for the brilliant people I get to call friends. When I don’t know what I’m doing - which is more often than I’d like to admit - these are the experts I turn to.
Called Anne Rimoin (renowned epidemiologist) to ask about the measles outbreak and what we’re supposed to do. She said nothing if you’re vaxxed, and if you’re not sure - to just get vaxxed!
Asked Tiffany Bensley (founding team The Row, Violet Grey, Type Navy) if I could only do one beauty treatment, what should I do? She replied that “I have only done it once, so far, but I truly believe the gold standard is CO₂ laser (fractional ablative laser). It stimulates collagen production, refines skin texture, evens out pigmentation irregularities, and softens fine lines. That said, which doctor you do it with really matters. So definitely do your research…or just call me.”
Asked Congressman Eric Swalwell (House Committee on Homeland Security, Subcommittee on Cybersecurity) whether the KOSA bill (The Kids Online Safety Act) stands a chance and how we can advocate for it. He said protecting our kids from online harms has to be one of our top priorities (as it is for him as a lawmaker and parent), and that reaching out to our legislators or advocating for it at a town hall is actually super effective.
I’m very excited about the return of the Balenciaga moto bag. I think I can get behind the comeback of the Chloe Paddington too. The Herve Leger bandage dress is a bridge too far. Texted Erin Walsh (leading fashion stylist to Anne Hathaway and Selena Gomez) about the Fendi Spy Bag - just not sure if we’re really doing this. Thankfully, she confirmed we are not.
